The Story Behind "Mean Girls"

The musical adaptation boasts a book by Tina Fey herself, with the music crafted by Jeff Richmond, Fey's husband known for his work on "30 Rock" and "SNL". The lyrics are the brainchild of Nell Benjamin, the lyricist behind "Legally Blonde".

Creative Minds Behind the Musical

Before its Broadway debut, "Mean Girls" had a world premiere at The National Theatre in Washington, D.C., in 2017. While its Broadway run was cut short due to the pandemic, the musical has since embarked on multiple tours across the U.S. Fans can also look forward to a movie musical adaptation set to release in January 2024, with Renée Rapp reprising her role as Regina George.
